Meet our experts
The OGIP Advocates Network was formed in 2020 and launched in 2021 and brings together young peace and security advocates from across the world to share knowledge and shape practice. Peace and security is a field dominated by an older generation and largely shaped by patriarchal institutions from the Global North. Young people are peace and security experts in their own right and should be treated as such.

While many of our Network members are featured here, it is not always safe for young advocates to profile their work. Young people deserve a seat at the table, so we encourage you to work with our community for your events and projects. Social entrepreneur and Feminist Community Organizer - Kenya
Okech Annete Adhiambo is a Kenyan, a social entrepreneur and feminist community organizer. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Africnette, a social enterprise that supports women and youth handmade artisans in rural Africa. She is a trained peacebuilder of Peace Building Institute Rwanda and IBuild Africa Tunisia. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance.

Senior Program Officer, USIP – Afghanistan
Fatema Ahmadi worked at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Kabul as the Peace Process Program Officer supporting diverse beneficiaries including high-level Afghan women, journalists, researchers, youth and communities. Among the projects she managed was a program on Synergizing Nonviolent Action and Peacebuilding (SNAP), which prepared young people from different backgrounds to initiate non-violent responses toward violent actions.

Founder, Not Foresaken Child and Sponsorship Officer, Children’s Hope Chest - Uganda
Evelyn Anyiko is the founder of Not Forsaken Child, an organization that works to support orphans, widows and communities impacted by civil war. Evelyn is also the Sponsorship Officer, Children’s Hope Chest, Uganda. She has experience delivering training in conflict resolution, promoting children’s access to education and working with communities to create income-generating activities to support conflict recovery.

Damilola Babatunde is a Peacebuilder and Gender Equality Advocate. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Young Changemakers Foundation (YCF); a youth-led and impact-oriented organization that is focused on positively transforming people and communities through peacebuilding and empowerment initiatives/projects.

Programme Analyst, Preventing Violent Extremism, UNDP - Canada
Isabella works at the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Crisis Bureau at HQ as a Programme Analyst with the Preventing Violent Extremism team. In this role she coordinates the team’s gender and women, peace, and security portfolio and UNDP’s work with religious actors, and acts as the PVE focal point for country offices in the Arab States.

Nolliettie is a Senior Superintendent in the Malawi Police Service and a peace mediation advocate and expert. In her role she works on mediation, informal conflict and peace processes, and building strategies for effective engagement of women in conflict prevention and management.

Isabela Karibjanian is a student at the University of Oxford, where she is pursuing a Master of Science in Global Governance & Diplomacy. Dr. Tishya Khillare works as a Fellow at the Council for Strategic and Defense Research (CSDR), New Delhi. Asia Regional Coordinator, Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights – Bangladesh
Rezwan is the Asia Regional Coordinator for the Coalition of Sexual and Bodily Rights in Bangladesh. He also currently volunteers as a Project Coordinator, Inclusive Bangladesh at the Commonwealth Youth and Gender Equality Network. Through his work, Rezwan conducts employability skill development projects for the vulnerable youths living in the rural and remote areas of Bangladesh.

Tirso Sitoe is the Executive Director and Researcher of Bloco 4 Foundation - Research in citizenship, activism and social policies. He has a master's degree and a postgraduate degree in intercultural relations from Open University (Lisbon) and a degree in Anthropology from Eduardo Mondlane University. His research focuses on political and governance processes, youth identification process, human rights, and critical music and social protest in post-colonial Mozambique.

Salma is a trained lawyer and consultant for civil society organizations, governments, international, regional and national agencies. Salma is also a sitting Member of the Commonwealth Women Mediators Network. She has served in multiple roles and capacities, from being a civil society activist, a University lecturer and researcher, a journalist and a Public Official of the Government of Sri Lanka.

Founder, Section 20 – Zimbabwe
Esther is the founder of Section 20, a youth organization working for youth in marginalized and hard to reach communities in Zimbabwe. Section 20 provides constitutional literacy among many other services. Esther has growing experience in movement building and strategic advocacy. She has served as advisor to Zimbabwe's Youth Minister and Co-Chaired the governance and legislation committee at the Political Actors Dialogue Forum.
