Maya Ungar, 21
Student, Global Governance and Diplomacy, Oxford University – United States
Maya is currently pursuing a Masters in Global Governance and Diplomacy at Oxford University. She is a passionate advocate for the importance of a gendered perspective in peacebuilding and the necessity of working towards sustainable and equitable peace, as well as LGBTQ+ and religious diversity issues.
Previously, Maya interned for the Alliance for Peacebuilding, Search for Common Ground, the United States House of Representatives, the U.S. Department of State and Peace Corps. She has also worked closely with other youth-led organizations such as The Institute for Civic Organizing and STAND: The Student Movement to End Mass Atrocities. In 2020, Maya was awarded a Fulbright grant in Sri Lanka.
Maya holds a BA in International Studies, Political Science, and French from the University of Arkansas.
